The Gambling Harms Recovery Network brings together local organisations, communities and people with lived and living experience. We want to better understand gambling-related harm and improve the support available across Aberdeen City.

What is gambling-related harm?
Gambling-related harm can affect anyone. It can have an impact on a person’s:
- Mental and physical health
- Relationships and family life
- Finances
- Employment
- Overall wellbeing
The effects are not limited to the person who gambles. Family members, friends and the wider community can also be affected.
About the network
The Gambling Harms Recovery Network is working with local communities to:
- understand people’s experiences of gambling-related harm
- identify gaps and barriers to accessing support
- raise awareness of the help available
- strengthen referral pathways
- shape and develop accessible, person-centred and stigma-free support and services
- help prevent harm through earlier identification and intervention
- ensure the voices of people, families and communities are central to this work
The network aims to ensure that people with lived and living experience help shape future support and services.
Share your experiences
We want to hear from people aged 16 and over who live in Aberdeen City and have:
- experienced gambling-related harm
- been affected by someone else’s gambling
- supported someone affected by gambling-related harm
By sharing your experiences, you can help improve understanding of gambling-related harm in Aberdeen and inform the development of future support, services and community networks.
Take part in our survey here, the closing date is Friday 9th October.
