Memorial Books and Services

This page provides information about Memorial Books and Memorial Services supported by the NHS Grampian Spiritual Care Department.

Memorial Books

Four special Memorial Books lie in hospital chapels in NHS Grampian:

Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Dr. Gray's Hospital

There are Memorial Books for families who have experienced a pregnancy loss or death of a baby within NHS Grampian. These books are kept in the Chapels at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Dr. Gray's Hospital (Elgin) and can be viewed at any time.  Each book is arranged with a page for each family with space for the baby's name and a space for a few personal words.

If you would like your baby to be remembered in one of these books, please email gram.maternitymemorialbook@nhs.scot

Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital

The book lies in the Hospital Chapel at Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital, recording the names of children who have died and whose families have chosen to remember them in this way. The book is available to view 24 hours a day.

If you would like your child to be remembered in this book, please email

gram.spiritualcare@nhs.scot

Roxburghe House
