Services Available at Practice

All GP practices are contracted to provide essential services, that is, basic treatment of ill people. 
We also provide the following additional services:
  • Child Health Surveillance, together with the Health Visitor. 
  • Contraceptive services. 
  • Maternity services in the antenatal and postnatal period, together with the midwives from Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. 
  • Routine immunisation of children, together with the Health Visitor. 
  • Cervical smears. 
  • Freezing of warts and other small skin lesions. 
  • Vaccinations and Immunisations.

 

We also hold contracts with NHS Grampian for the following Enhanced Services:
  • Annual flu immunisation programme to protect elderly and at risk people. 
  • Regular monitoring, by blood and urine tests, for patients on a range of drugs for arthritis and bowel problem
  • Regular monitoring by blood tests for patients on Warfarin. 
  • Drugs misuse programme for patients with drug abuse problems, in conjunction with the Substance Misuse Service. 
  • Minor surgery. 
  • Annual comprehensive review for patients with diabetes.

Clinics

  • The Nurse Practitioner runs a minor illness clinic Monday to Friday.
  • The pharmacist holds a weekly hypertension clinic.
  • Diabetes clinic is held regularly.
  • Appointments for chronic disease reviews are also available. If this affects you, you will receive a letter regarding this.
