Public Involvement

NHS Grampian Service Change Hub

Supporting meaningful engagement throughout service change

Engaging with patients, carers, staff, partners and communities is a vital part of planning and delivering service change. Effective engagement helps us understand people's experiences, identify potential impacts, and develop services that better meet the needs of our population.

In NHS Scotland, there are legal and policy requirements to involve people in decisions about services that may affect them. The level of engagement required will depend on the nature and scale of the proposed change, but engagement should always be considered at the earliest stage of planning.

This website has been developed to support colleagues involved in service change by providing access to guidance, tools, resources and examples of good practice. Whether you are considering a small service improvement or a major service redesign, the information available here will help you understand your engagement responsibilities and plan an appropriate approach.

In addition to the information and resources available inthe tabs above, the NHS Grampian Public Involvement Team can provide advice and support to help you identify the most effective methods of engagement and ensure that the voices of patients, carers, staff and communities are heard.
