Tuesday 29 September

Every Voice Matters

Purpose - To establish speaking up as an ordinary and expected part of a healthy, inclusive and learning organisation, and to launch the ‘Everyone Matters’ pulse survey.

Core message - Speaking up is part of how we learn, improve and keep people safe. It can start with an idea, a question, feedback or a concern. Every voice matters, and everyone has a part to play.

Staff action - Consider what helps or prevents you from speaking up.

  • Complete the Everyone Matters pulse survey.
  • Share an idea, question, observation or concern through an appropriate route.
  • Encourage colleagues to contribute, without pressuring them to disclose personal experiences.

Manager and leader action

  • Create time for staff to contribute.
  • Explain that respectful challenge and feedback are welcomed.
  • Promote the Everyone Matters survey.
  • Ask staff what would make it easier for them to Speak-up in everyday practice.

Tuesday 28th Sept Key Messages and Activities:

  1. Campaign launch

“This Speak-up Week, we encourage everyone to use their voice. Whether you have an idea, a concern, feedback to share, or simply want to support a colleague, every conversation has the potential to make a positive difference. By speaking up and listening well, we can all help create a safer, kinder and more inclusive NHS Grampian.”

  1. Launch of the Everyone Matters pulse survey

‘Have Your Say: Pulse Survey Now Live!’

As part of Speak Up Week, we’re encouraging you to take part in our first ‘pulse’ survey.  You should have an email in your inbox from Webropol containing your invitation.  If yours has not arrived, please contact gram.imatter@nhs.scot  This is also the address you should use if paper copies are required.

This 2-3 minute, 5 question survey focuses on the staff experience part of the wider iMatter survey. It’s part of the organisations commitment to listen to you, act on your feedback, and improve your workplace experience.  You can have your say anytime between now and Sunday 18 October.

Director of People and Culture Jay O’Brien has recorded this message to support your involvement – Someone will need to supply a link and an image please.

  1. Team conversation prompt

Managers could use a five-minute prompt:

“What helps people feel able to offer an idea, ask a difficult question or raise a concern in our team, and what can we each do to make that easier?”
