2026 is the Summer of Sport

In June Scotland’s men’s national football team will compete at the FIFA World Cup finals for the first time in 28 years. Later in the summer the city of Glasgow hosts the 2026 Commonwealth Games. While the nation’s elite sportspeople compete on the world stage, the Scottish Government is investing an additional £40 million into the 2026-27 sport budget. £1 million of this is funding a ‘Health in the Community’ campaign, which includes a FREE STEP COUNT CHALLENGE which anyone in Scotland can take part in.

The competition starts on Monday 6 July and ends at midnight Sunday 2 August. Teams are a maximum of 5 people. You can sign up your team now!

How to enter a team:

1. Sign up or log in at stepcount.org.uk 

2. Click +register and get my free team

3. Enter 1 for the number of teams you'd like to book

4. Complete the form and click confirm my booking

5. Go to the teams tab and click edit your team

6. Type or paste the first teammate’s email address and

click invite team member. Repeat for all teammates.
