Smoking Advice Service

Whatever your reasons are for smoking and for wanting to quit, with the right support you are four times more likely to become smokefree.

We can offer up to twelve weeks of support tailored to your needs:

Group support in your local community

Sessions run once a week for six weeks with a further six weeks available if needed.  Each session lasts 45 minutes.  Groups are friendly and informal where you will receive support along with fellow smokers.  These are held at venues across Grampian.

One-to-one support

If you are unable to attend a group, we can provide one-to-one support.  If you are housebound, an advisor can visit you in your home.

Telephone support

Our advisors can offer telephone support if you are unable to visit a venue.

Pharmacy support

Most community pharmacies across Grampian provide support for people wanting to stop smoking.  You don't need to make an appointment with a pharmacy and you will receive up to twelve weeks worth of support.

To find your nearest pharmacy visit the NHS 24 website or contact the Smoking Advice Service.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy

Where appropriate, we may be able to offer you Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) or other stop smoking medications such as Champix or Zyban free on prescription.  These can help increase your chance of success and can be used even if you are under 18 years of age.
