The Manoshphere: ‘Understanding Online Influences on Gender, Identity and Inclusion’
Wednesday 21 October, from 2–3pm via MS Teams
The Staff Equalities Network is delighted to welcome Katrina Murray, Project Worker with Cybersafe Scotland, to an online session on Wednesday 21 October, from 2–3pm via MS Teams.
Katrina will be leading us through a thought-provoking discussion on the 'manosphere' and exploring what the term means, decoding some of the language and narratives associated with it, and examining how this online space has evolved in recent years.
The session will consider the growing influence of manosphere content, its wider societal impact, and why it matters for the experiences, attitudes and wellbeing of children and young people today. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of this increasingly important topic and reflect on its relevance for equality, inclusion and safeguarding.
We will also be thrilled to welcome Paul Southworth, Consultant in Public Health and NHS Grampian lead for gender based violence as our special guest host for this session. Paul brings a wealth of knowlege and perspective in this space which will ensure an interesting and engaging session around this important topic.

As ever, all colleagues are welcome!
