It addresses parameters of practice, and arrangements for initial and continuing education to support competence in the prescribing role. Good governance standards are set out and it includes a list of resources to meet these standards.

Where it is not reasonably practicable for prescribers in community setting/primary care to be aligned with GP Practice codes, consideration can be given to initiating a virtual practice.
