Reimbursement for Moray Maternity Patients’ Travelling Expenses

This purpose of this page is to support Moray families making maternity-related mileage and expenses claims only. For enquiries regarding your pregnancy or birthing plan, please contact your midwife.

If you would like to make a claim for mileage relating to the birth of your baby in Aberdeen, please download, print and complete this form (docx) and return it to the postal address detailed on the form. Please note, you may claim for up to two return journeys up to a maximum of 130 miles relating to the birth of your baby only.

The cost of accommodation for partners travelling for a birth in Aberdeen of up to £75 per night for a maximum of two nights can also be reimbursed.   Please include a receipt along with your travel form and confirm on the form you have been advised to seek reimbursement by your midwife.

If your baby has spent time in neonatal care, you may also make a claim for expenses through the national Young Patients Family Fund to help with transport and food and drink costs. To find out more and make a claim, visit: Young Patients Family Fund - mygov.scot
