About WATCH

The WATCH project work is comprised of four interlinked Work Packages designed to gather the evidence for developing the best practice guidance. It will run from September 2024 to July 2026. The WATCH project is funded by Moderna under its Vaccine Innovation Fund (Grant Reference Number: VIFC2024005).

Work Package 1: Identify

This work package involves a scoping review to map and summarise the available literature on the barriers and facilitators to recruiting care home residents to clinical trials of medicines and vaccines.

Work Package 2: Solve

This work package aims to conduct qualitative interviews with key stakeholders to identify the potential challenges and innovative solutions to recruiting care home residents into vaccines trials.

Work Package 3: Test

In this work package, the WATCH project team will monitor recruitment into vaccine trials in Scotland (and where possible the rest of the UK) that could potentially include care home residents. This will allow the team to learn what is and is not working well throughout the life of the project.

Work Package 4: Share

This work package is responsible for producing the best practice guidance and sharing the learning as the project progresses.
