Current Pharmacy Applications
Temporary Workload Management Notice:
The Board's Pharmacy Practices Committee (PPC) and Public Engagement teams are currently managing a high volume of ongoing pharmacy application activity. To ensure each case receives the full and fair consideration required under the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical Services)(Scotland) Regulations, new applications and notes of interest will continue to be accepted and acknowledged in the usual way.
However, due to current workload, there will be a delay in progressing newly received applications to formal assessment. Applications will be considered in order of receipt, and all statutory procedures and consultation requirements will be followed in full. It remains the responsibility of the proposed applicant to request a pre-application meeting within 6 months of the notice of interest being submitted.
Notifications of interest will automatically expire 6 months from date of receipt if no action in progressing to the pre-application meeting stage is taken forward. Following any pre-application meeting, potential applicants will then have 5 days to confirm if they wish to proceed.
This is to ensure a fair process is in place for any other notifications of interest in one specific neighbourhood. The potential applicant will be notified their note of interest has expired at this point and where applicable, anyone on the waiting list for the same neighbourhood will be informed.
