Re-tubing your Hearing Aids

It is advisable to replace the tubes on your hearing aids at least every 6 months, or if there are obvious signs of wear. Examples of wear include a kink in the tubing or if the tubing is hard and brittle.

You can change your hearing aid tubes yourself at home, attend a local drop in clinic (mould tubing only) or make an appointment at the audiology department. Please see below for more information.

Hearing Aids with Thin Tubes / Domes

If you have a hearing aid with a thin tube and dome (see image below), you need to request spare tubes from the Audiology department via phone or email, and change them yourself.

Please see links below for instructions on how to do this (the way the tube is removed, will depend on the manufacturer of your hearing aid.

Hearing Aids with Ear Moulds

If you have a hearing aid with a mould (see image below) you can request mould tubing to do this yourself; or book an appointment with us; or attend a drop-in clinic based in your area:
