Lost Hearing Aids (Adult Service)

If you lose your hearing aid, we can arrange a replacement, but it may depend on the type and model of your hearing aid as to how long this takes.

Please note that you may be charged for a lost hearing aid.

The charge for lost aids is £50 per aid inclusive of VAT,

When you receive your replacement hearing aid, you will receive a form to complete regarding the circumstances of your lost aid, and whether you meet any of our exemption criteria.

This form should be returned to the audiology department and, if a charge is required, your details will be passed to our finance department, who will be in contact with you.

If you fail to return the form, or pay the charge, this will prevent any further replacements being issued to you in future.

Hearing aids with a custom ear mould

If you have a hearing aid with an ear mould, you may require an appointment to have an impression taken of your ear. This will depend how long it has been since you had your hearing aid fitted and the type of mould material. Please contact the Repairs team for advice on this.

Once we have a new ear mould back from the manufacturer, a replacement hearing aid can be issued, usually by post.

Hearing aids with thin tubes / receiver and domes

For hearing aids with thin tubes / receivers and domes, we may be able to replace the aid immediately by posting a replacement.

Please note that persistently losing this type of hearing aid will require exchange to and ear mould fitting.

If you lose a hearing aid which is connected to your phone via app or Bluetooth, we need both hearing aids to pair them together, and so you may require an appointment.
