Audiology

Welcome to the NHS Grampian Audiology Department - THIS SITE IS CURRENTLY UNDER DEVELOPMENT

Our audiology team provides assessment, rehabilitation and support to adults and children with hearing loss, tinnitus and balance issues across Grampian, including Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray. We aim to provide high quality, patient-centred care to all patients referred to our service.

We work closely with the Ear, Nose and Throat department, who medically investigate, diagnose and treat hearing and balance disorders.

Our adult audiology service is based at Woodend Hospital. We also have a smaller base at Dr. Gray’s Hospital in Elgin for Moray patients.

We cover several peripheral locations, on different days, including: Aboyne, Buckie, Fraserburgh, Inverurie, Peterhead, Stonehaven and Turriff. Please note we have a limited number of appointments at these locations, and they are only for routine adult clinics.

Our main paediatric service is based at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital Outpatients department. We are able to see some paediatric patients at Dr Gray’s, Fraserburgh and Stonehaven, and we also have Newborn Hearing Screeners based in Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.

Current waiting times

Please be aware that our waiting times can be quite lengthy, particularly at peripheral clinics. For an up-to-date waiting time average, please see below:
