Moray residents to be offered Inverness MRI appointments
Published: 17/09/2025 08:50Working with colleagues at NHS Highland, NHS Grampian is arranging for people living in Moray and waiting for MRI scans to be seen at the mobile unit currently located at Raigmore Hospital.
Radiology service manager, Claire Vernon, said: “We are grateful to NHS Highland for making appointments available to us. This will help reduce our waiting list and clear the current backlog of referrals.
“This is a temporary arrangement, which we expect to run between October 2025 and February 2026. People waiting for an MRI scan do not need to take any action; we will be in touch with them to offer an appointment in Inverness.”
The first appointments are expected to take place at Raigmore in the week commencing 6 October. If there is enough capacity, the offer may be extended to people living in north Aberdeenshire.
Katherine Sutton, NHS Highland Chief Officer for Acute Services, stated: “We are delighted to be working closely with NHS Grampian to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality radiology services. This temporary partnership is beneficial to patient outcomes while helping to reduce waiting times."
