From NHS Grampian
A special thank you to NHS Grampian's Speak Up Ambassadors
Since Speak Up Week began in 2022, NHS Grampian has produced a wide range of resources, delivered events and initiatives, all designed to promote and encourage a speak up culture within our organisation.
But perhaps the work we are most proud of in this space is the development of our Speak Up Ambassador Programme.
We think it is really important to highlight this, as for us it demonstrates that ‘Speak Up’ isn’t only an annual programme of events, but it is something we have invested in and take seriously all year round.
Our Speak Up Ambassadors (Confidential Contacts) are located in a wide range to services and across the whole of Grampian. Speak Up Ambassadors are experienced and trained to offer confidential support and advice to anyone wishing to raise a concern, and you can find out more about our Speak Up Ambassador Programme here.
So, we want to take this opportunity to give a special thanks to all 17 of our amazing Speak up Ambassadors, for making time in their busy roles to support colleagues seeking guidance and advice around any concerns they have, and often at a time when they feel like there is no one else to turn to.
NHS Grampian is extremely grateful to you all, not only today, but everyday and want to thank you for everything that you do.
Equality and Diversity Update for Speak Up Week 2025
As part of NHS Grampians commitment to creating a safe and respectful workplace, our Interim Equality and Diversity Manager is leading important work to promote zero-tolerance to racism and discrimination. This includes a staff experience survey to better understand lived experiences, an online incident reporting system to make it easier to raise concerns, and a new training opportunity to support awareness and action.
NHS Grampian is also proud to be a third-party reporting centre for hate crime, offering staff and the public a safe space to report incidents. These initiatives align closely within the values of Speak Up Week 2025, reinforcing the message that everyone has the right to be heard and supported. By speaking up and standing together, we can build a culture of respect, trust and safety across all our teams and services. You can read the full update here
