Public Involvement

Designing Services 'with' people - not 'for' people

Would you like to have your say about the NHS in Grampian?

Patients, carers and members of the public are involved in the work of NHS Grampian in lots of ways; helping to make a difference to services now and for the future.

What we do

The Public Involvement Team supports people from a range of backgrounds and experience who want to be involved in the work of NHS Grampian. Patients, carers and members of the public don't need any special skills or qualifications and can receive any support and training that is needed.

Opportunities vary from attending a focus group, giving views by email or electronic questionnaires to ongoing pieces of work that have monthly meetings.

The Public Involvement team consult with staff to ensure their views are represented in service change too. The team also provide support and guidance to staff about how they involve patients, carers and members of the public in their services.

By getting involved you can:

  • Help make a difference to NHS Grampian
  • Keep up to date with local and national health issues
  • Meet new people
  • Develop new skills and confidence

  • To make informed decisions when planning services.

There is a requirement for all NHS Scotland Boards to involve people in designing, developing and delivering healthcare services as detailed in: Planning with People, Community Engagement and Participation guidance
