Research Nurses

Welcome to the Research Nurse page that is designed to be an information portal for nurses working in research in Grampian. There are many useful websites already that nurses can access for information and this portal will supplement them with more local information.

Carole Edwards, the Research Coordination & Training Manager (RCTM) maintains a database of all nurses working in research and at present there are approximately 80 nurses working on a variety of different studies within NHS Grampian and the University of Aberdeen. A  review of Research Nurses working in Grampian has made recommendations where systems/processes are required to be put in place (induction, competencies and recruitment) and where support is required (line management,  lack of personal development plans & appraisals and poor career development). Please click here to download review.

If you are new to research nursing please get in touch with Carole Edwards, c.edwards4@nhs.net or tel (01224 555171),  so that you are known to the R&D Office and can be kept informed of current issues and training events via global emails.
