Paul Hughes, Project Development Officer for the Moray Community Health and Social Care Partnership, set himself the challenge of running 12 half marathons in 2012 - his 12 in 12 Challenge. To date he has completed seven races, raising almost £1,000 for this very important unit.
Now he's planning an extra push for funds for the centre which provides specialist care for people with cancer or other progressive illness.
He said: "I have sent some 'begging' letters to various sports stars and celebrities asking them to donate an item large or small for a fundraising draw. This should hopefully add an extra interest in my challenge as well as some extra cash in the coffers.
"I intend to offer one draw ticket for every pound donated, including people who have already donated, as well as selling draw tickets at £1 each with a draw to take place later in the summer.
"So far I have had some fantastic responses from some generous sports stars and their agents. Commonwealth Gold medallist, World Championship silver medallist and London 2012 hopeful Lisa Dobriskey
has sent me a signed Team GB Beijing Olympics 2008 vest and crop top as well as her 2012 Olympic trials number, also signed.
"I have also received signed photographs from Usain
Bolt, Mo Farah and Christine Ohurugu
to add to the prize list. The prize list can only get longer so please sponsor me and help this cause - as well as a chance to help yourself to these great prizes."
Paul would like to hear from any individual or organisation who would like to donate an item.
