Maternity Services Liaison Committee

The Maternity Services Liaison Committee was set up in 2013. Information about the Committee is Link opens in new windowavailable at this link (pdf).
Information about the Committee's achievements so far will follow shortly.

Would you like to get involved in making our maternity services better?

We need women, partners and members of the public who are interested in improving maternity services in Grampian to join our Maternity Services Liaison Committee.

What does the Maternity Services Liaison Committee do?

Our main role is to ensure that maternity services listen and take account of the views and experiences of women and families who use the service.
Being part of our committee will mean that your views will be heard and, working together with staff, will lead to improvements in maternity services across Grampian.

Who are the members?

  • Parents who are currently expecting a baby or have had a baby in Grampian in the last five years.
  • Representatives from charities and voluntary groups, for example, the National Childbirth Trust, SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) and La Leche League.
  • Midwives and doctors who deliver maternity care in Grampian.
  • Managers and those who train and support the maternity care team.

When and where do we meet?

The committee meets four times a year in Aberdeen. Meetings are held in the early evening and refreshments are provided. We also help with expenses by contributing towards travel and childcare costs.

What does the committee not do?

Although we are always interested in receiving comments or suggestions from women and families, the committee is unable to answer questions or concerns about an individual's care and treatment.
If you have any questions about your care, please ask your midwife, obstetrician, health visitor or GP.
If you have a concern or complaint about your care, please talk to your midwife or contact:
