Parking Statement

Following an inaccurate report in today's Press and Journal ('New pool cars driving NHS staff to distraction') NHS Grampian would like to make it clear that new pool cars have been leased for the benefit of all members of staff based at Foresterhill Health Campus. For example a doctor, midwife or nurse will be able to book a car to travel to another hospital site.

The article also states that 'Management will also be entitled to a permit space, even if that means they have parked their car at Foresterhill and left the site in one of NHS Grampian's 60 pool cars'. To be clear, all members of staff based at Foresterhill Health Campus were eligible to apply for a parking permit. No member of staff, whether medical, nursing, management or admin, has been guaranteed - or is entitled to - a permit. The pool cars have been leased to enable a member of staff, regardless of the type of job they do, to travel on NHS Grampian business even if they are not able to bring their own car onto the site.

All staff who applied for a permit will be contacted directly regarding the outcome of their application. If successful they will be advised when they can collect their permit. If their application is not successful they will be given details of transport alternatives and the appeals process, should they wish to appeal.
