Steam Boiler safety testing - loud noises expected during Wednesday and Thursday afternoons (September 7 and 8).

As part of the essential safety testing of boilers in the Foresterhill Campus Energy Centre boiler plant, please be advised that loud noises are expected during Wednesday and Thursday afternoons (September 7 and 8), as well as the release of large amounts of steam into the atmosphere.

The noise, which is anticipated to be as loud as a jet engine taking off, will drop off sharply the further you are from the source.  The approximate location of the Link opens in new windownew Energy Centre is available on this map.

Please do not be concerned by the noise or steam - this is part of routine testing, as we commission the new Energy Centre to be ready for use.

A poster about the work, is available in a Link opens in new windowcolour and in a Link opens in new windowblack and white format.

We apologise for any inconvenience during this essential work.
