Rape and Sexual Abuse Support

If you have been the victim of a sexual assault there is help and support available.

Reporting to the police

If you wish to report the incident to Grampian police then this can be done by calling Tel: 0845 600 5700. This should be done as soon as possible as it can assist the police in gathering evidence.

Emergency Contraception and Sexual Infection testing

If you text SEXINFO to 80182 you will be sent texts telling you your nearest suppliers of:

  • Emergency contraception
  • An STI check-up

This service is only available in Grampian or in the Highlands
 
Alternatively, you can contact the Sexual Health Service at City Clinic, Woolmanhill Hospital in Aberdeen on Tel: 01224 555 486 and speak to a trained member of medical staff who will be able to advice you regarding any health needs you might have.

Our opening times are: 

  • Mon- Thurs- 9am-5pm
  • Fri- 9-4

After 5pm and at weekends you can get advice by contacting NHS 24 on Tel: 08454 24 24 24

Rape and Abuse (R.A.S.) provide vital support and advocacy to female survivors of rape and sexual violence aged 13 years and over.  Survivors can access information on legal and medical issues and we also provide support to family, friends and partners of the survivor. 
 
Survivors can access support by our telephone helpline which is open four evenings per week or by face to face appointment with one of our support workers.  Our service is accessible in Aberdeen, Peterhead and Fraserburgh.

Survivors UK supports and provides resources for men who have experienced any form of sexual violence.

They help people affected by crime by providing emotional support, giving practical help and essential information to victims, witnesses and others affected by crime. The service is free, confidential and is provided by volunteers through a network of community based victim and youth justice services and court based witness services.
