Direct referrals to our bone clinic for all metabolic bone disease related problems. Clinics run on a Thursday morning on the ground floor of the Simpson Pavilion, Woolmanhill Hospital. At this clinic necessary blood tests can be performed to assess for unusual causes of osteoporosis and there is time for patient education. Bloods are also taken to measure biochemical markers of bone turnover, blood tests which measure how quickly bone is being made and broken down. These tests can help determine if secondary causes of osteoporosis are present and also help monitor therapy for osteoporosis.
