About Us

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Foresterhill, Aberdeen, AB25 2ZN
Tel:  0345 456 6000

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) is the largest hospital within NHS Grampian.  It is situated on a self-contained, 50 hectares (125 acres) site at Foresterhill, to the north west of the city centre.

ARI is the main acute teaching hospital in Grampian and has about 900 hospital beds.  It provides a complete range of medical and clinical specialities, with the exception of heart and liver transplants. Our close links with the University of Aberdeen have made us a centre of pioneering medical research in a number of fields.

We have made a lot of capital investment in property and medical equipment at the hospital in recent years.  This includes upgrading and refurbishing public and ward areas, and the construction of additional operating theatres and an Intensive Care Unit.

On the Foresterhill site, there is also the  Link opens in new windowRoyal Aberdeen Children's Hospital and the  Link opens in new windowAberdeen Maternity Hospital.
