Worship in Hospital

Sunday Worship

Regular services of worship are held in some NHS Grampian hospitals.  Patients, visitors and staff are welcome to come to any of these services.  Ask ward staff if you wish to attend.

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

There are no services on Sunday morning.  If a patient would like some bedside prayers on a Sunday morning they should  phone 01224 553316 or request that staff contact the on-call chaplain (page number 880349)

Roxburghe House

There are no services on Sunday morning.  If a patient would like some bedside prayers on a Sunday morning they should  phone  01224 553316 or request that staff contact the on-call chaplain (page number 880349)

Royal Cornhill Hospital

  • 11.00am - 11.30am: Royal Cornhill Hospital Reception Area 'A' Block

Woodend Hospital

  • 9.30am - 10.00am: Conference Room in Neuro-Rehabilitation Building (for Wards 5-22)
  • 10.30am - 11.00am: Day Room in Grampian Specialist Rehabilitation Unit (West)

Dr Gray's Hospital, Elgin

  • 11.00am - 11.40am: Interdenominational Service of Family Worship for patients, families and staff.

Community Hospitals

Services of worship are held in some of the community hospitals in NHS Grampian.  The local hospital will have the details. 

Muslim Prayer

Friday prayer takes place at the mosque behind Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, near the IM&T building at lunchtime and the building is open for regular prayer at any time of the day. Because this is in a separate building it may not be suitable for some patients to attend. If the available time or the circumstances make it difficult to perform prayer at the Mosque facility there is always the opportunity of performing it in one of the chapels available in every hospital within NHS Grampian. However, the Friday prayer is only held at the Mosque facility.
