Promoting NHS career opportunities to local schools

There's more to the NHS than doctors and nurses!

That's the message being offered to schools as part of the national NHS Scotland campaign to attract young people towards a career in the NHS.  The NHS Grampian Recruitment team are keen to reach young people of all interests and ambitions and are happy to come along to any careers conventions or fairs that schools in Grampian may be organising.  Alternatively, we can also provide an informal session with groups of pupils, or arrange visits to various NHS departments for pupils interested in a particular field.

Apart from the obvious nurse and doctor posts, the team like to focus on the more unusual career options that perhaps do not immediately come to mind when thinking of the NHS.

This can include maintenance apprenticeships, or training as a secretary, ophthalmic photographer or dental hygienist.  With over 200 professions, it's usually possible to identify an area of interest to suit most people, with or without qualifications.
