Launch of Moray Health-e-space
(www.health-e-space.com)

Date:            Wednesday 11 November 2009
Time:            10.45am to 2.45pm
Venue:          Conference Room, Moray College, Elgin IV30 1JJ

You are invited to the launch of a new website aimed at providing a platform for members of the public to be able to upload health information specific to their own personal needs.

Health-e-Space.com will enable, empower and encourage people to take responsibility for their own health by giving them the means to create their own patient centered medical toolkit.  The site has been designed to meet the above requirements in Moray and will:

  • provide local health information
  • provide links to recommended health websites
  • allow networking with other people in the area with similar health concerns and to share experiences
  • provide suggestions on how to live with health concerns in Moray
  • raise the profile of health issues to the wider community

As health care becomes increasingly expensive, it makes current ways of working unsustainable.  Some analysts predict that by 2020 virtually all school leavers will need to be recruited into the care sector to maintain the current level of care. Not only must there be a change in how health care is provided (from one of treatment to one of prevention), there needs to be an increasing emphasis on individuals taking responsibility for their own health (self care), if health care is to remain comprehensive.

There are limited spaces available, so if you would like to attend this excellent event, visit Link opens in new windowwww.moray.ac.uk and complete the online booking form.

Health-e-space is an ongoing development and is seen as a partnership between the public, relevant scientists, the NHS, Industry, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Moray Council, Moray College, a number of universities, voluntary organisations, Scottish Health Innovations Ltd, and the Moray Community Health and Social Care Partnership.
