GMED Out Of Hours Service

NHS Grampian is committed to maintaining a high quality, safe, reliable and sustainable out of hours service.

Changes to GMED

Like all public sector organisations, NHS Grampian is facing significant financial challenges. In summer/autumn 2011, as part of the NHS Grampian wide process to address these challenges, the GMED General Manager met with clinical and non-clinical staff across Grampian to discuss how the service could be delivered more efficiently whilst still maintaining a safe and reliable service.

Information and Engagement

In response to local concerns about resulting changes in Inverurie and Aberdeenshire South, it was agreed that it was important to provide interested stakeholders with accurate and timely information about the changes.

An Link opens in new windowinformation sheet was produced (pdf) explaining what the GMED service is, why changes were discussed and the decisions that had been made. Community meetings were also held in Inverurie and Stonehaven in February 2011.
