Visiting Patients in the Emergency Care Centre
Visitors to the wards in the Emergency Care Centre should enter via the main Aberdeen Royal Infirmary entrance off Foresterhill Road. Visitors will not be able to enter the Emergency Care Centre through the Emergency Department entrances.
On entering ARI from Foresterhill Road follow the signs for the Green Zone down the main staircase to the main hospital corridor. Continue along the main corridor until directed right to the Emergency Care Centre. Use the lifts or stairs to ascend to other levels. These lifts and stairs are the only access for visitors. There is a separate set of lifts dedicated to the transport of patients. Staff not involved in the movement of patients will also use the visitor lifts.
To access the Emergency Care Centre from the Phase 2 building of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary use the lifts or stairs to descend to the basement of Phase 2. Follow the signs for the Green Zone and Emergency Care Centre to the visitor lifts and stairs.
Visiting Times
The accommodation in the ECC is mostly in single rooms. This offers an opportunity for a more flexible approach to visiting. NHS Grampian's Visiting Policy is currently under review.
